Update from Sam Gunsch... Bill 29 – Alberta Parks Act (written Tuesday morning 16 Nov.)
1. Debate on the Alberta Parks Act has been re-scheduled to begin Wednesday November 17.
Note: Some debate will be during Wednesday afternoon question period, but most will be in the evening session.
2. Ideally, visitors to the public galleries during afternoon Question Period are urged to contact their MLA to reserve a seat, and if you wish have them introduce you as an Albertan concerned about the Parks Act.
Plan to check in with security as early as 1:00 pm for the session start shortly after 1:30 pm. You may get a seat without booking ahead but the afternoon Question Period is often fully booked in advance for busloads of visitors. You may be able to get in around 2:00
Attending the debate in the Leg’s public galleries is subject to security controls/passes and procedures similar to air travel.
During the day parking is very limited near the legislature. Leave yourself extra time.
Evening session: Arrive and begin check in for the evening debate session at 7:00 pm. No bookings necessary to reserve a seat. Guest introductions are not done.
