OTTAWA—Impacted First Nations community representatives along with environmental and social justice groups are in Ottawa today to host meetings with MPs, hold a public forum and a press conference to draw attention to the House of Commons Environment Committee study of the impact of the tar sands on water resources.  

OTTAWA — A last-minute meeting of the Finance and Transport Committees will take place on Monday to reconsider a controversial aspect of the federal Budget Implementation Act that would threaten the protection of Canadian waterways.

OTTAWA— Sierra Club Canada is raising the alarm that the Budget Implementation Act introduced Friday will eviscerate the Navigable Waters Protection Act (NWPA), an Act that has protected Canada's waterways since before Confederation.
