PUBLIC FORUM: EXPLORING RENEWABLE ENERGY OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR

The proposed Muskrat Falls hydro development project has spurred considerable debate about the future of energy production and consumption in our province. This public forum is meant to contribute to this discussion and present information on the opportunities for municipalities, businesses and home owners to become renewable energy producers.

Atlantic Provinces Urged to Increase Climate Change Action; NL gets failing grade on climate initiatives

We are looking for a creative and discerning individual to take over the editing of The Sandpiper. Tasks include: meeting with volunteers and staff to identify themes, volunteer recruitment, soliciting submissions from authors, artists and advertisers, graphic design of the electronic newsletter, and editing of final submissions. Sierra Club Atlantic Petition to Ban Fracking to be Presented to NS Legislature
On Thursday, April 5th, at approximately 9 am NDP MLA Gary Burrill will present Sierra Club Canada-Atlantic Chapter’s petition calling for a legislated ban on hydraulic fracturing to the Nova Scotia Legislature.
The petition garnered over 2500 signatures collected in a couple of months and hundreds of these signatures were collected by High School student Chris Dufour.
